All Saints West End Window Progress.

Melinda Writes: we have just received a date for the second phase of work to begin on the West Window of All Saints. (Some of you may remember the first phase, when the central panel was repaired and made secure - I attach a photograph of the work in progress then, to jog any memories that need it…)  The second phase will renovate the outer panels. Scaffolding is scheduled to go up on Monday 23rd February 2026, and work on the window itself will, we hope, start the next day. Services will continue in the church as scheduled during this work. Some individuals have already made generous donations towards this second phase of the work (thank you very much, it’s really appreciated - you know who you are), and a grant has been obtained, but more money is needed to cover the total cost of the work.

As you know, the prevailing wind and weather does put a lot of strain on the west end of the church, so the PCC is very keen to get this done. I’m sorry to be talking about money, but if you'd be able to help financially, please write 'west window' onto the back of a yellow gift aid envelope containing your donation, if gift aid can be claimed on it. If you do not want gift aid to be claimed, please put any donation into a plain envelope, again writing West Window on it, so we can be sure it is put towards the cost of the scheme . These envelopes can be put into the box in the church, or into the collection, or handed to Pam Kendall,  Kitty Bond or me, please. All donations towards this project, however small, would be warmly welcomed, and the window will withstand the elements more effectively once this work has been done.
